Review on 🌬️ Silent Cooling Power: Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler with 250W TDP, BK022 by Adam Rymko ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Full compliance with the manufacturer's assurances, high quality.

As for the cooling efficiency, I can’t say anything definite yet, because. didn't do any testing. I can say the following: - this cooler is fully compatible with Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 3000MHz RAM sticks. With a total height of 40mm above them, there is a margin of 3-4mm under the fan. - in an open stand during a test run with an Intel Core I7-8700K processor, the fans periodically tried to turn off, i. E. even passive cooling was practically enough. Perhaps under load they will still work all the time. - again, without load and in an open bench, coupled with a 1000W PSU, a much more serious type of Sapphire PCI-Ex Radeon RX 580 Pulse 8GB GDDR5 (256bit) (1366/8000) (DVI, 2 x HDMI, 2 x DisplayPort) (11265 -05-20G) the system worked much quieter than in a closed case, I have an Intel Core I7-4770 + box cooler + 400W PSU + some kind of buggy Assembly and installation do not cause any particular difficulties. Among the shortcomings, I can note the ambiguity with which force to tighten the fasteners so that it does not loosen over time and so that it does not harm, because the mass is decent. And also the fact that the two bolts that pull the cooler directly to the processor are short. When I tightened it, I first screwed in one screw so that it definitely did not pop out when trying to install the second one. But then the second screw did not reach. I had to loosen the first one until the clamping bar reached the second fastener. As a result, it is unlikely that a uniform puff was obtained. Regarding the brackets for mounting the fans - the brackets are normal. None broke or came close to that. You just need not to pull on the middle, but to press lightly under the corners - and then everything snaps into place easily and simply. The sole of the cooler is polished quite well, although it cannot be compared with chrome. The sole itself is close to flat. The size is more than sufficient - it covers the processor with a margin. The height of the cooler above the MP is 172 mm. Thermal paste in the kit is much thicker than "water". I had enough of it for about 1.5 times.

Pros
  • Fairly easy to assemble and install. Climbed RAM strips with radiators. It turned out to be not as scary as it was painted in some reviews
Cons
  • There are no hints of the tightening torque of the bolts and fasteners to the motherboard. It would be possible to make a more convenient fastening of the clamping bar
