I know it's a cheaper lens so I'm thinking about it. It's great for the quick fix I needed it for until I could afford something better, but there are some serious issues with the way it captures that I noticed. Worst of all, the focus ring is indeterminate. It takes 2-3 full turns to go completely from one focus point to another, which should only be an issue with high-zoom lenses. And even then I was shooting with large zoom lenses that only rotated 1.5x. This isn't good for run-and-gun shoots where you need to be on point focus all the time. Also not suitable for recordings without a tripod. There are zoom lenses that I've used a lot that are great for shooting guns and running. So it's a lens issue, not misuse of the gear for the job. And I've also used cheap zoom lenses that work, so it's not a question of price either. My cheapest Canon lens was my favorite because of the half-turn focus ring. (It only takes half a turn to fully focus from end to end and it's fast with little drag) and this one is 18-135, so a similar range. Overall it's definitely worth it if you need something quick and/or are saving up for something better. Image quality is good. I also like that it's small and light. I travel and hike/boat/quad bike/run a lot so height and weight are always a factor.
