I used to buy fresh pet filters online to save time on visits to the pet store, but after some recent reviews I was hesitant to use them again. Especially when I read that a person found worms in his filter. After much research I decided to follow another reviewer's advice and give aquarium filters a try. I have found that the small Tetra Whisper Bio-Bag filters fit the Petmate freshwater filters that you can find at Revain. When inserting the filters, simply press the edges together a little. After using Tetra filters I saw a significant improvement. So much dirt got into the filter, I've never seen a fresh pet pal with filters. Your water is so clean and pure now. I will continue to use Tetra filters until Petmate can work together to provide a higher quality filter. Good luck trying to beat the aquarium filter. The updated 11/11 Tetra Whisper Bio-Bag has changed the filter and is now hard plastic and very difficult to fit into the slot. I thought I found a better alternative but now I need to find another filter that works in this slot. I'll keep experimenting with filters until I find the best one and hopefully they won't redesign their product for me again.
