stones are great! The base tends to rotate slightly during use. I'm still not sure why, but I'll keep looking for a way to reduce/eliminate this. I found the knife holder that came with it almost useless. I don't think he's holding the knife tight enough. It didn't work for the leading edge of the tanto blade. And it was too short for my big kitchen knives. The last one was the most disappointing. I was happy with the stones. I carved flesh when I was in college. I have used larger stones and prefer them. While not as big as I would like, they are a decent size, especially for the price. I believe that I will benefit greatly from them.
