When I bought my truck (used) I found that the battery was held by gravity and the battery cable was tight. SUV 4x4? Not good enough in my book! To install this I first had to drill a few holes in my J-bolt battery box. Then I put the battery back in and marked the length. When you cut the bolts, pass the nut or the wing nut provided past where you will cut them. Then when you're done with the hacksaw, you can unscrew the nut to make sure the thread still works. I cut them to size and installed the battery, then put the cross on and tightened the wing nuts to secure it. The thread was finished before the wing nuts got anywhere near the cross, so it's time to head to the hardware store to buy some nylon washers. That way my battery isn't going anywhere, and bumps in the road or trail won't ignite the battery. It's about as good as a generic product can get and the price is pretty good too!
