The perfect cookie mat!

The plastic mat I use to roll out the dough broke recently so I bought this as a replacement. It's a lot bigger and the material is different... in a good way. I assume it's silicone and fiberglass? Definitely nothing sticks to it which makes it even better than my old one! Good carpet if I want to bake something. I put it on my granite countertop and it's nice and flat for rolling out dough. I add some more flour just out of habit. My previous mat wasn't big enough to properly roll out pizza dough, but this one is perfect. The surface is non-stick and there are markings too to help you stay consistent and even. Of course, the carpet doesn't move either... you know, like parchment paper. When I need to clean it, I just wipe it down with a Swedish kitchen towel (another great eco-friendly kitchen product)... I hardly need any soap - just a little water to remove the flour. Then I just roll it up and put it in a drawer, it becomes a small size, easy to store. There's actually a little tie you can use to keep them close. Even if you lose it, you can easily fix it with a rubber band. In general I am satisfied with the purchase. I would like to point out that the labeling on the top and bottom is quite difficult to read, especially if you have dark countertops like mine. And a word of caution - don't try to cut it, including the cookie cutters! The material is quite soft and delicate...it will cut if you cut it with something sharp. So don't do it. I always use parchment paper for this so I don't risk accidentally cutting my new rug!
