I received and washed it today. And found that the rim was not good. It is NOT sealed. It is important for me. I don't want fiberglass on my skin when I wash it in the future. I chose this brand because it says the edges are sealed. But that is not true! False advertising. Now we have to think about what to do next. I'm not sure if this is a defective product or all.

When I'm bored, I sometimes bake something. This rug is priceless. It's big enough that I can work on a granite countertop without having flour all over it. Sticky dough will stick to it, but the thin layer of flour acts as a release agent. It's too big for my baking trays, but I have other mats for that. It does what it was designed to do, which is to keep the counter relatively clean. It has enough friction to keep it in place while I work and rolls off easily when I'm done. A word of caution

Heavy weight with inches marked instead of cm I keep mine rolled up with a parchment paper liner and velcro around it. I recently broke a hard plastic cake mat. This was bought as a replacement. It's easier to use and nothing sticks to it! I have already baked pizza crusts, bread and 2 apple pies with this mat. The plastic mat I use to roll out the dough broke recently so I bought this as a replacement. It's a lot bigger and the material is different... in a good way. I assume it's silicone and fiberglass?
