Comes folded in four and not rolled

I'm sure this probably doesn't render it unusable but the video posted shows it rolled up in a long tube. Mine arrived in a flat box that was 1/4 the size of the mat. Because the rug has been folded in four, it has a center crease and a small wave. When it arrived I took it out of the box and immediately folded it, hoping the creases would smooth out. It was a few weeks after purchase, and today I had to use it for the first time. Judging by the photos, she is still wrinkled and crumpled. Even the care instructions on the packaging say it shouldn't be stored flat. So why ship it folded in four and laid flat?
