good system Drivers are hard to find. Analog sound is nasty

The system is quite fast in terms of price and power consumption. Replaced my quad core i5 desktop with this one. Some resource-intensive tasks don't like the system, but common things work fine. It's about as powerful as a budget home/student laptop. It gets very hot so I bought an external 80mm USB fan to keep it cool. Built-in analog audio sucks. It has a power saving feature that turns off the card when there is no active media. It makes a HUGE bang when you close the media. There's also a loud hiss when the media is idle. I spent most of the day disabling the power saving feature, but no BIOS adjustments, registry entries, or driver replacements had any effect. I had to buy a USB sound card it was so bad. I haven't tried HDMI audio yet. That could work better. The external USB audio dongle I have works great. It comes with an Asian version of Windows with English as an option. I erased the disc and reinstalled the US version of Windows with no problems except that the drivers weren't easy to find. Windows does not recognize most hardware. After much searching, I found a poorly organized collection of drivers on the manufacturer's support forum. Try taking a hardware snapshot before reformatting.
