I'm obsessed with keeping my microwave clean. It's gross when you open the microwave and there's food all over the place... it really overwhelms my OCD. Open the microwave door to use it. When I tried it I was initially a bit confused on how to fill it in... BUT I figured it out and I think it worked great. I will say my microwave is not a complete disaster so I can't say how it would work for those with microwaves in bad shape BUT it seems to have worked on mine. I like that it steams rather than the cleaning method I've used so far has been to microwave a bowl filled with water and some dish soap for a few minutes. The problem is that sometimes the microwave door would actually open by itself after the bowl of water had been in it for a few minutes. When this happened all the water drained out and ran all over the inside of the microwave and onto the countertop below. It can be quite dangerous, so this volcano is definitely safer. I highly recommend it.
