Bought this collar for our male boxer who has always suffered from throat allergies. Almost every other collar we've tried has caused redness and sometimes bleeding. This collar seems to be working great and we haven't had any real issues with it yet. As with any collar, it will take a few minutes to find the right size. Due to the tightening effect of the collar, it works like a necklace but with a little padding around the neck. My only caveat is to make sure the size of the collar is snug enough because if you loosen it too much it will mean that the collar's function will dry out and the collar will remain loose around the dog's neck when force is applied. In this case, the dog is very likely to slip out of the collar as it dangles like a fish. A little too common when dogs usually see another dog. All in all a great collar for the price.
