I bought this cooler for my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L after buying a much more expensive US made Jegs cold case cooler just to get out of the core on my first big ride lick. The cold case was much thicker, had a larger core and tanks, but was also much wider (not advertised) and the fan shroud didn't fit as a result. I needed a quick fix and I really needed the right width for the fan shroud to fit and this primecooling unit worked great. I was skeptical because it was half the weight of a cold case heatsink, but it seems to work fine. No quick couplers are supplied for the transmission cooler lines, so these must be removed from the old cooler or purchased new. I tow a 23ft RV and a fully loaded truck works hard and when the ambient temp is above 75-80F it slowly rises above half the temp gauge until you turn on the heater. With that aluminum heatsink and using the RedLine Water Wetter it doesn't start overheating at all, but it works so well that in the cold it's hard to get up to normal operating temp unless the heatsink is through cardboard or blocked a bra. . Overall it does exactly what I need, time will tell how long it lasts.
