I only had a few French Press coffees and decided to buy my own. I chose this item as it is stainless steel and really beautiful. Lots of bad reviews for glass and plastic blocks so stainless steel was the best option. The lid portion has a concentric lip that rotates to block the spout so you don't squirt the coffee out at the top when using the plunger. Good solid grip. Very easy to clean and looks great on my desk. You can't go wrong with this. And I no longer need vinegar in my old coffee maker because of hard water. But the coffee taste is the best. Very satisfied.
