Laser cut out of the box

FIRST IMPRESSION is pretty good. Surprisingly sharp VG-10 out of the box. GOOD - VG-10 - if the VG-10 is truly amazing it holds a sharp blade but time will tell. The handle is flat VERY good for breaking. POOR fit and finish should be better. The top edge is not rounded. The blade is also not rounded with the fingers. OVERVIEW I think the competition in the $50-$60 range looks better, but you can't touch the VG10 at this price point. This is important. I originally bought this to use a wide ladle knife. Very helpful for me. The top and front also clean the board very well, the pommel is excellent, most other knives don't have a flat pommel. The handle is a bit softer and grippier, which works great. time will tell how it holds up. HOW TO USE A KNIFE - If you haven't used a Chinese kitchen knife or paring knife before, this one is different and great. Heavier than a normal knife. fly through food. Still open. Just one more thought - the gray area on the knife. I have an idea why that's a little gross. I don't like it but I'll see if it's a workout.
