I actually only bought the can opener from this set. The grip on the white plastic was pretty good, but on a particularly difficult can I twisted so badly that the white plastic on the outside separated from the gray. I will say it was an old oil can that had mostly dried out. So I guess everything is fine. for everyday use. I would recommend for general kitchen use. I wouldn't recommend if you can open the jar yourself, but you'll need help with particularly difficult openings. Unless, like me, you don't epoxy the white and gray parts.
