This is no ordinary photo lens. It is intended for some technical photography. It's a great choice for different types of projects, I've used it for architectural work. It's great for that. I also use it for copy work to make digital copies of historical maps. With the shift function, I can effectively increase the resolution of a picture by taking 4 pictures; top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right. All overlap and then merge into a panorama. I can easily almost double the resolution. Disadvantages, yes there are. The tilt function is set to move on the opposite axis of the offset (if the offset is set to the vertical axis, the tilt function will run on the horizontal axis. It doesn't matter to you. Also, the lens works fine, doing this forces the lens to set aperture using the command dials, unlike older PC lenses This is NOT an AF lens.
