Review on Optimized Peerless SA740P Articulating LCD Wall Mount for 22-40 Inch LCD Screens in Sleek Black by Eddie Burgess

Let me first say that I am very happy with this mount. It's a simple, compact, solid, one-bolt design and would be incredibly easy to install if the "expansion" spec were as it came. Please allow me to explain. I bought a 40" LCD monitor from Samsung and wanted to mount it on the side wall of my office so that when viewing, the bracket fully extends and the TV rotates 90° (i.e. perpendicular) to the wall. When I need to get to the nearest closet , I can put the TV on the wall so it doesn't get in the way. My TV is about 39.5" wide, so when I read the product description that the bracket is 20" from the wall, I thought I would would have found the perfect mount Unfortunately when it arrived I was told that the 20" size only applies if the TV stays parallel to the wall and the 90° extension of the TV is closer to 17.5-18", which would fit a TV less than 35". wide, inches, but not for me. To remedy this deficiency (pun intended) I built a block of oak which I attached to the wall and attached the base of the bracket to fortified. Works with this setup it exactly how I need it, so I'm happy with the end result. not enough for my 40 inch tv but I can understand why they rate it as the largest acceptable size. My TV has a 200 x 200mm VESA mount. The mount is 100x100 but comes with a 200x200 adapter plate that works great. The cable routing is nondescript, but very simple and effective. Remove one or both sliding covers, insert cables and reinstall covers. All in all I can't think of a better mount for the money for use on small to medium sized TVs.
