The base/clamp will fit both thick and thin tables, but I recommend using it on thicker tables. The arm is very strong and stiff, so you can load it well by bending it. I strongly recommend bending it after clipping it on the table, it will be much easier. Always use both hands and be careful when bending it and be careful when bending it near the neck of the base as it may break if you bend it carelessly. Hold the base by the neck when bending to avoid breaking or cracking. Overall okay for the price. Not recommended for people with weak wrists.
