Note I have upgraded from WD Black 1st Gen. all thoughts are based on comparison with this ssd. This drive is so cheap that there is no reason not to buy it instead of a SATA SSD (because the price is comparable: $40 => 256GB, $60 => 512GB, $110 => 1TB), at this price you get very fast reading. about three times the write speed with SATA. The random speed is very similar to a regular SSD, you won't feel a dramatic improvement in responsiveness, but it's noticeable during boot, I don't care what a cold boot is for fresh windows because I don't use fresh windows, I use Windows with installed applications and it made a big difference. A very big difference is also related to my workload. I use developer tools like VSCode and Android Studio. There is a big difference in VM spinup time (if you use snapshots), it saves a few seconds but it's worth it. I would definitely buy another one, in fact I am considering getting a 1TB for my laptop.
