Thanks to allergies and a very old stove that burned out, radiator heaters have been a vital source of heat for our homes in upstate New York for over a decade, so we know what to expect and what not. j. The unique wavy design that offers a large heating area appealed to my retired husband and I was thrilled that this model was offered as a manual model as we both learned to avoid most digital models in the very first winter because I have none found yet. which heats up automatically after a power failure, which is very important for us. Although they take a little longer to heat up a room, they put out a nice, even heat and are efficient when they do (sometimes we use a box fan blowing through the fins to speed up the process). We also like that it's fairly safe to use around our furry kids and that the cord can be rolled up on the side to keep it out of the way. I'm getting two new ones to replace some old ones. I hope this cooler will last a long time with such a great design.
