Update. I initially liked this humidifier, but after a few weeks of use it started turning off. It was supposed to run until the water ran out, but I've found that it now shuts itself off automatically when there's tons of water left in the carafe. Aside from a noticeable reduction in the amount of vapor produced that I was able to live with, the shutdown became a deal breaker and I started returning the item. I've cleaned the water spout several times with white vinegar like he said and nothing has improved the steam performance. I really liked how I could rotate this thing in the direction I wanted, but this feature isn't worth leaving.
