Review on πŸšͺ KidCo S353 Door Lever Lock White: Secure Your Home and Keep Kids Safe by Kayty Michaels

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A big, ugly solution that won't work for long unless you're willing to screw it up.

Pros: This is a lever handle lock that allows you to rotate the lever from the opposite side. It didn't require any adjustment of our levers. At first it seemed to work. Installed on the inside of the master bedroom door, it kept dogs out during the day (the German Shepherd pushes the levers UP with its nose, and once installed the levers can only be turned DOWN from the opposite side). In the bedroom and out of the kitchen waste at night, and kids could still come in at night if they needed us. The Bad: Big and ugly, as I mentioned, it clicks quite loudly as it turns on automatically when you let go of the doorknob. (not good if spouse has a soft sleeper), the kids (2 and 3) figured out how to unlock it in less than a week, and the adhesive installation wasn't strong enough to withstand the German Shepherd's repeated attempts resist hitting the lever. open minded. It was all over when he noticed it sway a little, and he knew that if he slammed it hard enough, he could open the door at will. I almost screwed the striker to the door, but instead I bought an $8 round knob with a key from Wal-Mart.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some problems
