Not as bad as other reviewers have pointed out.

I bought this despite some bad reviews stating the lock would not stay attached to the door without screws. Since the door in my case is a hollow core door I was concerned but found it held up well there. Maybe the key is to prewipe the door with some rubbing alcohol to get the double sided tape to stick? In use I found that the handle didn't have enough foam to fit snugly against the doorknob, but as long as you remember to check it's back in place you're fine. My son has not been able to open

Good for my pup, the glue doesn't stand up to a determined kid.

For example, it allows you to open the door from the other side, but the glue is not as good and not as strong as I hoped. Luckily I don't need it for a child. My boxer puppy can open my door with a lever handle. My 6 year old boxer isn't too keen on her so I have to keep her separate but she opened the door. My husband is often in the other room so I needed something that could be opened from the other side. Basically, I needed it while training her, she hasn't tried it for a long time, so I…

Keeps the cat out of my office

My cat is too smart for her own good. She jumps up and opens our doors in the form of a scroll. After one too many hairball incidents in my paperwork, she was permanently banned from my room. We used to propped up the baby gate on the side to cover the handle and keep it out. This is a terrible pain for me! It opens easily. You can also open the door from inside the room. I can't imagine this working well for most kids I know who are tall enough to reach a doorknob. Maybe my friends' kids are…

Does not fit all lever handles

Our door handles are too big for this product (this is an exterior door). When I tried to install it, the case wouldn't snap into place. I didn't want to return it because our 15 month old kept opening the front door and I desperately needed something to stop that. So I modified the case by cutting off some plastic around the hole. This allowed me to wrap the doorknob just enough to cover one side and tape it around to make it work. I used glue at first but it was only after our four year old…

Keeps my 1 year old inside but lets the rest of us out

My 18 month old boy easily found that pulling the knob would get him out the door. I did a little research and settled on this lock. When we first opened it we were skeptical that it would work. To install it we also had to use a straight razor to cut out part of the lock to fit the base of our doorknob. After that, installation was easy. The lock is installed on the door leading to our laundry room and backyard. The three of us open and close this door dozens of times every day. The lock stays

Nice design but not difficult for a 2 year old

This is a well thought out product that is easy and quick to install. We hoped that our child would not understand this for some time, but this did not happen. Although we took precautions to ensure our son didn't figure out how the lock worked (we tried to make sure he didn't see us picking the lock on the pantry door), we found out last weekend that he's already plugged in had it in. This, just 3 short weeks after installation, was a huge disappointment for us. I will say that he is very good

Pros
  • Accessibility
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Pros: This is a lever handle lock that allows you to rotate the lever from the opposite side. It didn't require any adjustment of our levers. At first it seemed to work. Installed on the inside of the master bedroom door, it kept dogs out during the day (the German Shepherd pushes the levers UP with its nose, and once installed the levers can only be turned DOWN from the opposite side). In the bedroom and out of the kitchen waste at night, and kids could still come in at night if they needed…

My 3 year old son easily picked this lock

This cam lock did not work at all, good thing they have free returns. Installation wasn't as easy as I expected either. At first I just tried glue but my 3 year old just pushed the lever and the top latch released instantly and he was able to open the door. Then I tried the screw method. The panel behind part of the lock stayed in place, but when he shifted his entire weight (30 pounds) to the door handle, the cover containing the lock immediately came loose and he was able to open the door. I…
