My cat is too smart for her own good. She jumps up and opens our doors in the form of a scroll. After one too many hairball incidents in my paperwork, she was permanently banned from my room. We used to propped up the baby gate on the side to cover the handle and keep it out. This is a terrible pain for me! It opens easily. You can also open the door from inside the room. I can't imagine this working well for most kids I know who are tall enough to reach a doorknob. Maybe my friends' kids are just exceptionally gifted, but it's like a puzzle that they'll quickly solve once they see me open it once or twice. However, it works great for deterring the cat from opening my office door!
