I used one of those round 5 inch orange strobe lights for mail delivery. It squinted but was difficult to see in daylight or even from a distance. The new light is much closer to what the county's cars look like. WE SEE. what's the point It's really easy to see in daylight. Compared to my old lamp, that's a pretty significant improvement. If you want something brighter or higher quality, you will have to spend 3-5 times more. For $50 spent here, it's fantastic. Anyway, the build quality seems decent, it doesn't feel cheap and it doesn't look like it has any leaks to worry about. The magnets have a rubber cover to protect the paint. they are quite durable. I don't think the 40 mile limit is correct. don't let it affect you. The magnets are strong enough. that this thing is pretty hard to remove by hand. I'd be shocked if a 60-70 mph freeway speed airflow pulled this thing out. My mail route never exceeds 50mph so I can't be sure. I love that they have a full "on" with no blinking if you just want them to emit a bright light. I chose white and amber to give an alternating flash of light for maximum visibility. I feel a lot better with it than with my old "placebo" light. The cable is a bit short (for me). My old flashlight was 1-2 feet longer, which made it easier for me to route the cord and gave me more freedom in placing the light source. (Through the rear window of a '99 Jeep Cherokee) No big deal. This thing is so bright it will fit anywhere on a roof. You can also add an extension, but this will move the switch. The plug switch has a power indicator light and another switch for strobe mode. Can't comment on durability but their range seems to work well so we'll see. I will update if this is an issue. If they add some cord it will be the perfect $50 light. Whatever the case, I can't imagine you could do better with your color choices. This is a great inexpensive light. Buy it. EDIT AND MANUFACTURER'S NOTE: I had to return this [White/Amber] and purchase [Amber/Amber] instead as it appears flashing white lights are for emergency vehicles only and are illegal in Washington state. .All the yellow is still pretty bright and hard to miss.
