This light band is perfect for our renovated patio! I drilled a 1/4" hole in the top of the 4x4 perimeter posts and passed a light thread through. Landed on the steps and was able to run garlands under the steps to light up at night. under the top railing (2x6) with phone cord holders ( the kind you nail) and it looks great. I threaded it through the 4x4 carefully as I didn't want to twist or otherwise damage the string, but it went pretty well. Really added what we were looking for. Atmosphere. Satisfied the need and at a good price!
