We get a lot of rain here so a good raincoat is a must. It is indeed very waterproof. It also serves as a good windbreak. The color (turquoise) is very pretty and the style appealing. There are plenty of zips to keep the front closed in the wind. The only thing I don't like is the double zipper. I've found that if I want to take it off I have to close it almost to the bottom and come out and then hold it on my lap to open it. I bought a medium and it's roomy enough to layer underneath. In fact, I could probably order a small because it runs a bit big. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
