At first glance this is an excellent timer. After sitting on my desk for a few weeks, it has elements that make it less appealing. First, I don't feel like writing on a clear acrylic timer. Second, the seam is visible when the timer is on, so the lettering isn't as visible. It seems to hold sand for about 5 minutes so I'll use that. It's also less likely to break than a traditional sand-in-glass timer. If you like how it looks on the internet, if you know what it actually says on it, you can be satisfied.
