After many trips to my local Harley dealer I was told that my heavily modified 2008 night bar would always sound like a dump truck when I applied the rear brake. (Yes, I got that comment and others alike badly.) Harley didn't have the solutions, so after a bit of research I decided to install them myself. As long as you have the jack this is an easy project and I've had great results. Just a tiny squeak here or there when I tried and after a pause in the time they were silent.
