No more brake dust for parts

If you use WWW tires this is a mandatory change. The resulting light gray dust can be washed off with soap and water every 4,000 km. Burnt out brakes left rust colored dust on everything and spoiled the look of the WWW. The Lyndal also has better wet braking performance. If you ride a Harley, do yourself a favor and install Lyndal brake pads and an Alto clutch. This will be one of the best decisions you will make for your bike.

Stop Your Heavy Harley

This brand of brake pads is highly recommended by Harley Road Glide owners online. I put the kit on the rear brakes when those pads were getting thin. Together with brake cleaner and high-temperature brake grease, the installation was done very quickly. The brake feel is very good and the dust is not as bad as with the HD pads. Finally I can clean the rear wheel. Two more sets of front brakes will be fitted in the near future. This is an excellent product.

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Expensive

Constant buzz

I've heard good things about these pads, so I took a chance on buying non-Harley parts. I bought 3 sets for front and rear but I decided to put only the rear ones first. I've been lucky. After installation, my bike sounded like a kid's bike with the map turning in the spokes. It was a constant hum that only got louder when you hit the brakes. It was so distracting that I couldn't ride my bike so I had to take them off and put them back on. I put Harley pads on and no noise from the brakes.

So far so good for brake pads

I read all the conflicting reviews about these brake pads, I bought them hoping to get rid of the brake squeak. I installed them yesterday, before installing them in the calipers, I ground the pads to remove burrs and also added some extra grinding to the front of the pad to create a 45 degree angle (see this in a post in one of the HD forums). Washed the bike and took it for a test drive. Only driven 50 km on the pads, but it doesn't squeak. So far I am very satisfied with the results.

Problem solved - I recommend.

After many trips to my local Harley dealer I was told that my heavily modified 2008 night bar would always sound like a dump truck when I applied the rear brake. (Yes, I got that comment and others alike badly.) Harley didn't have the solutions, so after a bit of research I decided to install them myself. As long as you have the jack this is an easy project and I've had great results. Just a tiny squeak here or there when I tried and after a pause in the time they were silent. The brakingโ€ฆ
