I bought these "all weather" boots for my 28 lb spaniel mix because his feet are too cold to walk in the snow. I highly recommend using the size chart that came with these boots as it is true to size (my dog is often thought of as a small to medium sized dog); My dog's dimensions are very small. I went with bright red so they're more visible in the dark and the reflective stripe on the toe box was nice too. The inner lining protects their paws from freezing and they are quite water resistant. They are especially good for preventing toxic and harsh salt/deicer from hurting your feet. I think these boots are best for moderate snowfall (1-6 inches) where the snow slides off/clears away instantly. Towards the end of the hike the mud is soaking wet and I can only imagine it being the same when it rains. We don't get big snowstorms in Washington, but we've had them lately, and in the deep snow our boots fell off. The boots can sometimes come off when she starts playing in the snow or with another dog, and sometimes they come off when she runs. A final note of general caution: Be careful not to snag the rope grooves on the elastic portion of the boot as you put them on. Overall they do what I need in soft snow conditions and are reasonably priced.
