MUCH better than the 1/4 " version!

I have these Grommets used to build H brackets for a 4x4 fence I drove them in with a battery powered screwdriver with the bit that came with these grommets The heads on these are the 1/4" x 6" heads of Spaxx, who were VERY quick and easy to carve, far superior. I had a strip but I was able to pull it out before it was completely destroyed. Even this conversion was a lot better than the 1/4". Also, these things fit snugly and feel really solid.

Pros
  • Advanced low profile head with integrated washer makes for a modern and stylish installation. Excellent tensile strength without the need for a separate washer provides excellent clamping capacity and easier installation
Cons
  • not sure

LOVE these Spax Turnbuckles

I have a 600 foot dock with planks attached with nails and/or screws. Many years of sun and surf, they all work for nothing. NOT THESE SPAKS! Tough as nails (literally) with excellent holding power and I don't have to smash my stuff with a hammer to install it. Precise placement, precise torque, secure grip; I will never use any other fasteners for engineering applications. I chew two to three sticks of T-30 per carton of 50, but SPAX almost never strips. exactly what i need.

Pros
  • Check out our threads!! Our patented thread technology allows for faster screw threading, easier installation and less wood splitting. Let Spax take care of some of the hassle on your next project
Cons
  • Nothing

The screws are ok but the HCR is terrible!

I use a lot of these props or power delays because SPAX sells them. I have them in all different strengths and lengths. But the ones that came in today (1/4" x 3") were not up to standard. The screws are ok so the finish was ok but the HCR finish [HCR® High Corrosion Resistant finish option for interior and exterior including treated wood.] is terrible. someone behind the wheel must have fallen asleep, and they passed the final quality check and went on sale. I ordered two packs and both are…

Pros
  • Heat treated Class 5 durability. The heat treatment of the screw increases its strength and reduces the risk of breakage.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
