I bought these to go over pillows with very wild prints. The cushions were dark brown, maroon, and brown, and I ordered white and black zebra print. I was concerned about being able to see dark colors through white, but the material is thick enough that you can't see anything. The material is also very soft. They're not velvety like the others I've ordered, but soft enough to nap on. I wash them every week as I have 3 cats who are very comfortable with them and have not had any issues with them fading or wearing out. I've had my first set for a little over a year (50+ washes) and just bought a second set so I can replace it right away instead of waiting for my washer and dryer. The pillows are tight inside and out but when put on they fit perfectly. (My pillows aren't the kind that can be folded in half or flattened into blankets - they're pretty firm.)
