THEY SHIT BUT WORK

To reinstall the two surround back speakers so they can be tilted down, I'd rather use a bookshelf speaker mount (which I don't have). ), but couldn't find a mount that tilted down at a sufficient angle. The Echogear speaker wall and ceiling mounts proved to be the best available choice for my speakers. My first problem when I started assembling them was that "Step 1" starts installing the parts that appear in "What's in the Box" as "Attachments" to the main components, with no advice like this parts to be solved. I finally figured it out by going to steps 3 and 4 and reconstructing their blueprints. The next problem was the quality of the materials; cheap plastic. One of the set screws holding the speaker bracket was knocked out due to cross threads. I had already spent a lot of time with the first speaker so had no intention of returning these brackets for anything else so I just took the opportunity and got the set screw to secure the speaker a bit. If this connection fails, hopefully attaching the speaker wire to the speaker terminal pins will prevent the speaker from falling to the floor. These mounts are rated for speakers weighing up to 8 pounds. My speakers weigh 5 pounds, and even without using bracket extensions, the speakers shake all over the place. I also had trouble accessing the set screws after the speakers were partially installed to complete the required angles, but that was probably partly because my speakers were over 11 inches wide, causing them to block my access. I couldn't get one of the set screws to "hold" the speaker at the desired down angle, but fortunately laying the bottom of the speaker against the wall resulted in a normal angle. The design of these brackets is fine and would be much better, safer and much easier to fit if better materials were used and there was an angle adjustment similar to headlights. I gave these brackets 2 stars because while the speakers are not very secure , but sitting pretty close to them which is what I wanted.
