so far so good - bought to use with a WARM mist ultrasonic humidifier (slightly less common than cool fog: water boils before steam is released into the air) in a house with very, very hard water. Limescale deposits and caking in the humidifier unit used to be a big problem in the past. But this product, used as directed (2 small caps per gallon of water) seems to help keep the humidifier clean. (It was only used continuously for about a week this year, but at the same time last year the humidifier already needed aggressive cleaning.) Update 02/13/14: Almost a whole winter passed without descaling. Humidifier is great! Upgrade to 5 stars.
