Review on Procomm RA930 Right Angle Adaptor by Dawn Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well done. Gives you the angle you need for a tight fit. Excellent insulator design in the bracket. I'm so glad I bought two!

I have already purchased a four magnet roof mount for use on a car that I will only drive about 5,000 miles. So there is no desire to drill holes etc. The magnetic mount came with a "washer" and an 18ft coaxial cable with a PL259 connector. It was made in China and the mount and coax were of poor quality. Enter the Procomm RA930 Right Angle Adapter! I quickly encountered grounding issues and high SWR readings due to poor quality coax cable and cheap mounting hardware. I found the perfect solution with this product. I removed the mount and the coax cable that went to the magnet mount. I took a piece of sheet steel and drilled the necessary hole for this product. It comes with no instructions so please pay attention to how it is assembled in the box so install as it comes - I hope that makes sense. It has a very well-designed insulation pad and fits perfectly in the hole. I felt very comfortable as I had no assembly, missing ground or short circuit problems. I purchased a refurbished coax here at Revain and quickly installed the bracket and coax. Set to the right SWR and you're done. It has driven over 500 miles in the rain and at highway speeds. There is no attachment movement at all. This weekend I will route the cable straight from the bracket compared to the picture. I am so pleased with it that I have ordered another one today in case I need it for another car. I would recommend weather sealing the seal on the coax thread if using for outdoor installation. This is also included in my plans for the weekend. Great price and well made. I am using a Predator 10K antenna with a 22" mast, coil and 44" rod. The RA930 handles all of these antennas with ease. UPDATE: A second antenna arrived and I quickly modified my mount to fit another car. I put more pics in the bag and mounted a closeup on the roof. I sealed the coaxial cable with a rubber band made of pure silicone. I love this X2 mount!
