I have a desktop computer with a built in wireless card but it's a few years old and doesn't support the 5GHz band that much good the band not so good. I recently moved to a new location and the data transfer was only about 20Mbps, I pay for 800+ (Gigablast). My home office is on the 3rd floor of my apartment and the router/modem setup is on the first floor. New devices have excellent speeds and no lag. After some research I decided to try this device and it works PERFECTLY. I've read that some people have had connection issues, so here are a few tips. port until you install from the CD or download the drivers. Windows will eventually load/use generic drivers and while this can 'work' they are not always 100% compatible and assigning the correct drivers is difficult. Once installed, as soon as you plug it in, it will be instantly recognized and should show up under NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Also, if you already have a wireless card in your computer, make sure to remove the old one and connect/enable the new one to avoid conflicts. Now I'm getting about 180 MB/s, no lag, no disconnects. Hope this helps someone!
