Ethernet connection. Just plug the adapter into a USB2 or USB3 port (there is no additional speed benefit with USB3), install the driver and you're good to go. I currently use it all the time on the computer I installed in our guest room. I use my computer to play games with a little internet surfing and I love it when friends and family can use it when they come to visit. My only complaint is that sometimes it won't initialize when I turn on the computer, but all I have to do is unplug and plug it back in and it usually reconnects. I only have Wireless G so I don't know if it's faster on Wireless N or not.
