I broke my ankle at the end of May and wasn't allowed to wear it until mid-July. The swelling made life so uncomfortable. In September I was back on my feet 12 hours a day as a nurse. This bandage kept the swelling under control throughout the shift. I then started walking again and was able to feel pretty good with this orthosis. It's January now and I don't need a lot of days off, but I still wear compression stockings and this brace through all my 12-hour shifts; Compression stockings alone make me wimpy at the end of the day. I also wear it for longer runs. I ended up breaking down and buying a new one last month because of wearing it so much that the elastic eventually lost its shape, but it took six months for that to happen almost daily.
