Great idea and design, but the cap is too long for American gas cans. The thickness of the glass doesn't allow to attach the rod so it is long enough to attach the lid to keep it closed. When attaching a nut to a fuel tank stem, use any thread to tighten it to ensure a good seal on the tank. The removable vent cap is long enough to rest against the nut that secures the stem to the container so that the inside of the cap does not rest against the top of the stem. The only way to fix the problem is to file the cap so it's shorter so it doesn't fall off before it seals the top of the stem attached to the container.
