I was looking for a band that would protect my watch better than Apple's standard band and more decorative bands. When I received this band I found it stiffer and stiffer than all silicone bands. Much more like a classic sports strap (think Casio sports watches). While the material feels stiffer, I found it much more comfortable to wear than Apple's standard silicone strap. It just feels better on my wrist. Also, it's slightly longer than standard bands, my wrist length is 215mm and most other bands fit perfectly. It has three more holes for adjustment! The band looks great with an insert that looks like carbon fiber. What I like best about the strap is that it offers a little more protection for the watch than most standard straps. I love Apple products but have always added a protective case to my delicate products. This band fully protects the edges and adds a slightly raised edge to protect the face. This is important to me as I inevitably bump my hand when working around the house and yard. I've worn it on many projects without fear of damaging my watch. (You can see I skipped cleaning the paint on the underside of the strap) Don't worry it will scrape off right away.
