Ideal for watercolor paints

All right, the Color convinced me. I am very happy with these brushes. First a long review: I am a watercolor painter with average experience. Unless I'm aggressively looking for specials and coupons, watercolor brushes tend to be too expensive for me to feel comfortable buying, and the few times I've settled on something expensive, I've been satisfied with the value for money. relationship unsatisfied. As in, the quality is very good, but I still think the price is necessarily high. I usually choose multipacks, but I'm not quite satisfied with that yet. They hold a decent amount of water. They hold their shape well, so working with details is much easier, even just using the tip of a large brush. The set also has some very thin brushes that hold their shape very well. The brushes have excellent return, making it very easy to control the shape of the strokes. The blade is light and the tip is weighted forward, which also helps with control. Their hardness is also very useful for wiping paint from dry watercolors, as well as wiping paint from paper if necessary. So far I haven't experienced any bristle shedding on paper, which seems to be a hallmark of cheaper brushes. One thing I can't comment on is the durability of the adhesive, but I'll update my review if the tip comes off the barrel. Again, it's worth mentioning how much I love their locking. Nice variety of shapes and sizes, including fine detail brushes that are REALLY SMALL, some angled and some flat round. There's also a fan brush, although I haven't tried it yet. The only improvement I can think of right now is the inclusion of a cat tongue brush, but that's pretty rare to see in kits to begin with. As for the case, I'm happy with it too. It closes with a zipper and when closed is about half the size of a standard laptop. Each brush is held in place with a rubber band. The top of the case folds down and has a small snap strap that attaches to the bottom, keeping the set open in a tent shape so you can prop it up and have all your brushes close at hand as you work. You can also hang it upside down with the tassels in the loops to dry before putting it away. The brushes are well packaged, each in its own plastic case. Round brushes have a protective plastic tip. Overall I am very happy with these brushes. I would recommend them for beginners and intermediate artists. I don't have much experience with sable brushes although the general consensus is that they are the best as I only have two or three sets, but I reach for this set more often than any other in my collection. probably 50+. This set is great for trying out different shapes and sizes. Once an artist finds their favorite type, it's very easy to buy an upgrade and replace it in a set. As for the company, MoZart is fairly new to the market and I've blindly bought a few of their items and they really seem to fit their creed of providing art supplies for artists. I have the water brush pens, komorebi watercolor set of 40, neon watercolor set and these brushes and was very happy with the quality. Price. I believe they source most of their products from Japan and assemble them in China, so the cost is lower than other products of comparable quality. At first I saw a few negative reviews about their products, but most of them cited quality control. According to the owners they have worked with various manufacturers and I believe they finally found someone who is reliable as I have had absolutely no issues with uneven paint, blisters or manufacturing defects. I also noticed that there hadn't been any bad reviews for many months. I think this company is young enough to still have the fire to offer a good product. Prices are comparable to other newer companies Arteza although I would prefer MoZart Arteza as I feel the quality is more geared towards professional artists while Arteza is more suited to students, hobbyists or those who just want to practice, without feeling like they are wasting their more expensive palettes (like Holbein, Schminke, White Nights, Sennelier etc.). Arteza also has a lot more variety, but I hope MoZart will gradually expand over the years to include a lot more. In summary, I really recommend these brushes and will keep them in mind for gifts when the holidays roll around.
