Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ BISSELL PowerEdge Silver Cordless Vacuum by Bim Cook

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Will it continue? c handheld vacuum cleaner and electric broom

I'm a fan of cordless stick vacuum cleaners. My first was a Hoover Lynx which is still running seven years later. I have a Shark in the office, a Tineco and a Dyson V10 at home. This is my frame of reference when looking at this Bisell. First let me say that I received this vacuum cleaner for free through the Revain Vine program in exchange for writing a review. In all likelihood, I wouldn't buy it myself as several Bissell vacuums rank at the bottom in the cordless handheld vacuum ratings reviewed by a major consumer magazine. But after using it I am very happy with it. Let me get into the details. Suction power is ok, but not very good. This is usually my number one criterion, but my Hoover Lynx is an anemic suction machine, but it works. It has two suction modes, normal and strong. The power setting seems to match the midsection of my Dyson V10. video clip. The roll on this thing is fun. It has a drive roller that's only about 2/3 the width of the roller head, but the roller is narrow because of those little corner brushes/whips you can see in the pictures - little pinwheels like things in the front corners. They rotate to get into corners and extract debris, which climbs a ramp in the plastic behind the rotating heads, enters a groove on the underside of the head, and is sucked into the general vacuum cleaner stream. I thought these spinners were a gimmick. You are not. They work and they're surprisingly efficient in corners where my Dyson is weak. And they are interchangeable. They look fragile and I thought they would wear out quickly. You can replace them. Other Tools: Comes with a grout tool and a small brush. However, they are difficult to use due to the lack of a hose and the large size of the engine/manifold block. Cleaning the vacuum cleaner: The filters can be washed as well as the small rotating brushes. The roller can be easily removed for cleaning. All in all, I think this vacuum, which cost less than half the price of my Dyson a few years ago, is worth considering as a mainstream cordless vacuum.
