I love these watercolors!

I made a Tambis pattern (the bottom row of six is a separate metallic pack which I highly recommend!) so you can get a feel for how they look and I also have a Koi 24- Pattern made swatch sketch set to compare. Now the tambis are not as bright as the koi, but the pots are 4 times larger and you will get much more benefit from them. Colors are more opaque (although you can fix that by adding more water), and you get a decent enough range of colors to mix and match, something you might not be able to achieve with a more expensive set. If you want bold, beautiful watercolors that work, get this set. Especially if you want to do big details! The cuvettes are full size (although half full so they're actually 1/2 to 3/4 cuvettes but who cares!) so you can dip a big ol' brush in and pick up all the paint you need. The pans also come out of the case and can be turned into a travel kit with a metal pallet and some magnets. They're just great, and if like me you only use a few colors in a set, there are plenty of places online where you can buy individual replacement pots so you don't have to buy a whole new set. No, it's not me justifying buying more Tambis. No, not me. Never. Why four instead of five stars? The brushes didn't hold up well. Water brushes hit and miss, however, and you can always buy a couple of Ohuhu brushes to replace the ones that come with this one if they lose their tip or start breaking (to be honest, my Ohuhu brushes seem to be a lot better. than the Kuretake, which surprised me a lot!) Buy these watercolors now! They are amazing!
