My wife wanted these because she likes to make a whole teapot in her 6 cup teapot but it takes her several hours to drink that much tea. She has a plain white ceramic teapot from Crate and Barrel and wanted something to match. We had originally considered buying tea chests but I found most of them to be sloppy looking or just downright ugly and the wife was pretty sure the kettle couldn't handle the problem of keeping tea hot for hours. After looking around Amazon to see if there were electric pillow heaters or similar, we came across kettle heaters. I never knew things like this existed but now we know what to use all those tea lights we had in case of a power outage. Many other available kettles are made for Asian style cast iron kettles so the woman didn't think they would fit in her kettle. She also didn't really like how clear glass and metal would work. She thought this white ceramic model might be right and as the price is certainly reasonable I ordered it for her. were really made for each other! The kettle fits perfectly on it and is very stable thanks to the straps so that it does not slip. The proportions are right: neither the kettle nor the kettle appear too big or too small together. I'm glad I found something functional, affordable, and good looking (as opposed to some horrible, ugly tea chests!)
