Finally got around to hooking this up for my relatives in their horse trailer. I decided to connect the interior lighting, which can be turned on with a switch (12V power supply). The backlight can be turned off manually on the body itself, so we can leave the camera on and turn the backlight off! I added some 14 gauge wire (to make it easier to work with since it comes with very thin wire). I used to connect a lot of cables to cars so it was pretty easy for me. It's easy to post a video on YouTube if you're new to all of this. The camera quality is very good and the range is amazing! I think the description underestimates how far this camera can go. We just tested the night vision and I can't believe how amazing it actually works. We tested with and without the backlight and the result is almost identical! The app you should use got very bad reviews but we had no problems with it. Connecting to the camera is very simple: connect to WiFi on your phone/iPad, the camera is broadcasting, launch the app and bam, you've got a video! The only complaint I have is that you have to disconnect the backup lines every time (which isn't a big deal considering it's a backup camera). Overall my thoughts are: easy setup, amazing video quality, solid connection, amazing range. , excellent night vision, excellent camera! You can also connect two devices at the same time! They will tell their other horse friends about it!
