Generally satisfied, but the main design flaw

Cons: Actually only a minus, but it seems like a big one. Pencil points break internally all the time, requiring the cap to be removed and poking inward with the narrow point of a knife to loosen the shaft so it can be shaken out of the pencil's entry point. If you look closely you will see that the mine has a "stop" to prevent over-sharpening, but it is too far from the mechanism to do its job (probably a manufacturing defect unique to this particular device, since I can't compare it). other). same model). The line gets super sharp, gets stuck and breaks long before it reaches the stop. Three twists of the handle and then a half twist in the opposite direction to loosen the pin before taking it out to check sharpness seems to help a lot. Also, don't put too much pressure on the pencil when sharpening. After sharpening to the point of the needle (like my son likes to do), the problem seems to occur much more frequently (every other pen, if not more often). So not the best sharpener for young children or those prone to reckless sharpening. For this reason I will use it and not my child. Pros: It's REALLY effective despite being a single grind mechanism, not a double (which can actually contribute to line snagging as the mechanism only pushes the pin in one direction at a time, not evenly from opposite sides ). It only takes a few turns of the handle. Sticks to our counters, chest freezer, wooden dining table and fridge side. Almost any smooth surface. Much quieter than our battery powered one which didn't have much power unless you bought premium batteries for high powered devices. That was our reason for buying it. Pencil sharpening battery drain issue during Zoom school. For the price this is a very good little sharpener and I recommend it over battery powered electric sharpeners. Just be careful not to overexert yourself. If you really like your pencils sharpened to the point of the needles, this sharpener will really disappoint you.
