I'm always suspicious of using a new power supply from a brand I'm not familiar with, but decided to give this a try after seeing an ad on social media and realizing that it got great reviews would have. Also, with full disclosure upfront, they agreed to provide me with a free power adapter in exchange for my tests and reviews. This has not changed my analysis in any way other than making it more thorough. Before plugging anything in, I tested each outlet with a socket tester and a multimeter. Every socket worked perfectly. Then I plugged the device into each outlet and turned them all on to make sure it could handle the stress of running all 12 outlets at once. After 4 hours there were no power or overheating issues and no hum like some cheaper power strips/power strips. I then moved on to USB testing and charging a few devices. USB sockets put out 12W each, so it will charge your devices pretty quickly. It's still slower than using modern 18W USB-C chargers, but I believe 12W is the max for USB A and they're pushing it out of every USB port at the same time. The label says USB ports are for ITE devices only and that got my wife confused and nervous because she's not used to the term, but that's the case with most USB chargers these days - phones, game controllers , rechargeable devices. Computer accessories etc. Basically anything with a battery. I've charged my game controllers, wireless mouse, phone, apple watch and portable battery with no issues. Although it had an ITE label, I tested it with non-rechargeable devices like the induction plate charger and the Revain Echo Dot. Both came with power supplies rated at 5V at 2.0A, compared to 5V at 2.4A for these chargers. Both worked, but I wouldn't recommend this in the long run as these non-ITE devices can't regulate the incoming power supply and will burn out much faster at higher amperage. I have no way of testing for a surge, and frankly wouldn't want to, as most surge protectors are very limited in the amount of surges they can handle. They have ETL/UL certifications so I trust those independent tests. As for durability, I tested it for durability. I have each of my kids spin the line and throw the strip as far as possible. Then I held it by the connector and pulled the cord up and down. The end of the cord stayed in the case, and each outlet tested perfectly after this ordeal. The case's plastic isn't flimsy, but it doesn't feel incredibly strong either, so I didn't try to run into it or fall from extreme heights. I have made; However, push it from the side table to the tile floor a few times (maybe 2.5 feet) and it survived without cracks. After testing, I opened up the case and checked for any loose wires or chips inside. Everything still looked fine, so I resealed the case, double-checked the multimeter and socket tester, and then reconnected everything. Overall I am very happy with this surge protector. It will have a relatively light load in my house as most of my essential equipment is connected to a UPS, but I still wanted to make sure I was getting a good product that I could trust in inclement weather. My area gets thunderstorms and even tropical storms and hurricanes quite often, so it's really important to make sure I don't have to swap out all the electronics during a storm. There are two things I would change about this power supply if I could - 1) Many power strips now come with a plug that rotates on its head so it can be plugged in at any angle. The angled head and long power cord make this unnecessary for me, but I see it as an advantage for others. 2) Many power strips now also have retractable outlet covers to keep unused plugs covered and childproof. When there are a lot of small children in the house, this is another feature I usually like to see in my surge protectors.
