I am very impressed with the optical quality and overall build quality. In terms of optics and image quality, I can say that this is the best lens you can get with the Fuji x-mount 21-23mm. The Fuji 23 f1.4, based on what I've seen, is wide openly softer and may have more optical design flaws. Considering that the optical designs of the Fuji 23 and 35 f1.4 are much older and the autofocus motors make them completely unusable for video, the options are simply limited to the viltrox 23 1.4, Samyang/rokinon 21 1.4 or Fuji. 23 f2 for a 35mm equivalent focal length, even if you want to shoot video from time to time. After some testing, the viltrox showed pretty soft corners, and the chromatic aberration of all viltrox lenses is just terrible. Upon arrival I tested this much cheaper option and to my surprise the Samyang/Rokinon 21 1.4 is currently the sharpest and overall best optic I have tested with the native Fuji X mount. It turned out to be fantastic value for money. ratio and quality out . I also ordered the 35 1.4 which some reviewers say has even better optics. Some also say the lens build quality can feel cheap and plasticky. I don't feel that way It's nothing more than the slightly plasticky feel of, say, a Fuji xt30 or xs10 body if you're more used to the feel of more expensive mirrorless cameras in your hand. But given the price, it's just phenomenal.
