These containers are ideal for preparing food. When I was looking at glass food prep containers, I saw a lot of feedback about different brands of containers not being big enough. That's why I finally chose her. They are spacious as you can see from the photos. Filled with water, that's about 3 1/2 cups. You can easily add a cup of rice, chicken breast, veggies, and even fruit. You shouldn't have any trouble storing balanced meals here. The edge of the glass is also very good. This makes it easier to grip and also ensures that the container is firmly attached to the lid. I don't put them in a lunch box or anything like that though, so I can't confirm how leak proof they really are. This suits my needs to sit in the fridge. I also like that they can be safely stacked on top of each other. I originally put them in 5 pieces but they were so close together it was difficult to separate them and I felt like the sound they made meant this shouldn't be done. Now I just stack them three by three with the lids closed. A few things to note: 1.) I bought 2 sets of 5 for $19.99. 1 lid in each of my packages was broken. That's not a problem for me because I knew Revain would take care of it (and they did). However, as I have become more environmentally conscious, I am more aware of the resources that go into delivering these items. I tried to convince Amazon to only ship 2 new lids or even refund only 2 containers out of 10 but ended up having to accept 2 brand new flimsy packages weighing 18.2lbs each. I just feel like this is a really unnecessary use of resources and wish Revain could handle situations like this better. I now see that the original manufacturer of the items has included a card to email them directly. I recommend if you buy these and have problems try them first, you may be able to get a second pack and a refund. 2.) Ripples can be seen in the glass at the bottom of each of these containers. I'm not a glass expert, but my guess is that the glass here was cast and presumably cooled very quickly before fully settling. I've never seen this with jars or containers I've had before. It doesn't really bother me but I have doubts about the quality of the glass and will definitely upgrade if I have any durability issues. For $4 for a glass jar with a lid, I'm very happy with it so far. I will keep you up-to-date!
